There are quite a few options for screenwriters. Besides Final Draft there is also Screenwriter, roughly at the same cost.

Personally I prefer the programs that also allow you to develop the story, such as Movie Outline and Powerstructure. Some people like Dramatica. But each of these is in the same price range as FD.

Free alternative: Celtx (https://www.celtx.com) or you can write online at https://www.zhura.com.

Finally, there is nothing wrong with using Microsoft Word or Open Office. Free templates are available for both. As a matter of fact, I am working on some for my subscribers to be released early next year.

I’m letting the screenplays “stew” before I go back and rewrite.

What other program is available besides Final Draft? The programs a bit pricey, but if it’s worth it, I’ll come up with the money.
