‘I want real, honest ideas!’
Of the top ten budget films of 2014: seven have been sequels, one has been a reboot, one has been an adaptation of an existing comic book, and the last (Maleficent) is an adaptation of a long-standing Disney classic.
This is not to say that original films are not being made. Only that the films with the biggest budget, talent, and marketing are re-using their ideas more often than your last clean shirt on laundry day.
